Application

Applications are now being accepted!  HISTP is seeking eight underrepresented scholars for its next cohort running from 2020 - 2023.  Read more about eligibility below and complete the HISTP Application.

 

 

Eligibility

The criteria for HISTP scholar candidates include:

  1. HIV researchers and want to gain opportunities to leverage technology in their research – OR – In the engineering or technology field and want to incorporate HIV prevention or treatment into their work;
  2. Have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a field that supports the candidate’s research, or a degree enabling eligibility to serve as a PI on an NIH-funded R01;
  3. Belong to a disadvantaged and/or underrepresented group in behavioral and HIV-related research, such as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, and natives of the Hawaiian/US Pacific Islands;
  4. Have not previously served as a PI on an NIH-funded R01 grant;
  5. In the first one to two years of a tenure track position at a university in the United States.

  • Current CV and link to writing sample
  • List of current/pending funding sources
  • One-page applicant statement / research agenda
