To be eligible for consideration, potential HISTP scholar candidates must meet several criteria, including:
HIV researchers and want to gain opportunities to leverage technology in their research – OR – In the engineering or technology field and want to incorporate HIV prevention or treatment into their work;
Have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a field that supports the candidate’s research;
Belong to a disadvantaged and/or underrepresented group in behavioral and HIV-related research, such as African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, and natives of the Hawaiian/US Pacific Islands;
Have not previously served as a PI on an NIH-funded R01 grant; and
In the first two years of a tenure track position at a university in the United States.
